1. Do I require a passport to travel to Aruba?
Yes, a valid passport is required with an expiry date of a minimum of 6 months following the date of your departure.
2. What is the currency used in Aruba?
The currency used in Aruba is the Arubian Florin (AFL). However, major credit cards and US dollars are also widely accepted. Most Aruba’s ATMs accept international bank cards with Visa, MasterCard, Cirrus and Plus.
3. Can I bring my family?
Yes, your family may join you on your trip to Aruba. However, there is a maximum of 4 persons per room, 2 adults and 2 children (under 18) or 3 adults. If you have more than 2 children you would then need to book a connecting room. There is an additional cost for children sharing the same room with an adult as follows: 0 - 2 tax on air costs only, 2 - 4 years full fare on air seats (please inquire), 4 to 12 years of age - $1,700 per child, 13 to 17 years of age - $2,300, all-inclusive accommodations and air. Youth over 18 years of age would be considered adults.
4. What is the average Climate?
Pleasant, breezy, tropical with average temperatures of 32 °C / 89 °F.
5. Will I be able to call home or use my cell phone?
You may purchase a package from your mobile phone provider to reduce the cost of roaming charges while in Aruba if you are using your cell phone.
6. Will I have access to email and the Internet from the Resort?
You will be able to access complimentary Internet on your devices from the lobby or your guest room.
7. What time do I need to arrive at the airport?
The recommended arrival time for travel to Aruba is a minimum of 3 hours prior to your flight time departure. During peak vacation times it is also advisable to arrive a little earlier than the designated time to avoid long lines or any other unforeseen situations. If the weather conditions are unfavourable it is advisable to depart for the airport earlier as well to avoid any traffic problems.
8. Which airport in Aruba will I be arriving at and how far is it to the resort?
You will be arriving at the Queen Beatrix International Airport, located approximately 20 minutes from the Divi Village and Golf Resort.
9. Can I travel with my golf clubs?
Yes, you may travel with golf clubs providing they are pre-registered in advance. Each airline has different requirements for when travel with golf clubs therefore, depending on the flight carrier you are traveling with it is advisable to check those requirements before departure.
10. Can I purchase Travel insurance?
Yes, please call GLP Worldwide and ask for Cyndy Caleon or Mary Joy Morgan. Three options are available: *Medical Insurance, *Trip Cancellation/Interruption Insurance, *Comprehensive Travel Insurance. These options are for Ontario residents only. Other customers outside of Ontario must purchase their insurance with a provider from their respective province.
11. Will I be able to sign up for tours or excursions before I depart?
Yes, we will be providing information opportunities for off-site excursions for individuals and or groups in advance. Please see the Excursion page on this web site. You will also be able to sign up for tours once you arrive at the GLP Hospitality Desk located at the resort or with the Tour Company on property located at the resort. You may also want to customize a private small group tour in advance. Please call us at GLP for assistance and suggestions.
12. Can I request an adjoining room?
Yes, you may request adjoining rooms especially if you are travelling with children or young adults. In this case however the resort may not be able to guarantee that all requested adjoining rooms will be granted.
13. Can I request a King or 2 Queen Beds?
All suites at the Divi Village include a King bed and pull out sofa couch. To accommodate a room with 2 queen beds we may have to locate you in a separate building on the property.
